Artists’ Residencies for Visual Artists and Writers
One and two-week residencies from June 8-August 23, 2008
This program is designed for the professional and practicing artist to reside and work in a secluded, natural environment. This year, applicants may apply for either one or two week residencies. Artists are selected upon the merit of their work and written statements describing their proposed use of the residency. Students are not eligible for this program.
During their stay, artists are encouraged to present a slide lecture or reading of their work and to participate in the community life at Ox-Bow. Recipients receive a small private studio and room and board. Please note that the classroom studio facilities are not available to ARs.
Artists’ in Residence are required to pay a fee of $510 per week, due at the time the residency is awarded. A limited number of residency scholarships, covering a portion of the fee, are available through the William Carr Olendorf Residency Fund, the Metternich endowment, and the Tews scholarship for teachers. All residency applicants are eligible. Please indicate your interest in being considered for an award on your application. Scholarship recipients will be notified at the same time as notification of their acceptance for a residency.
Applications for the summer Residency program are due March 14, 2008.
